TuneInUsage Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 10th of November, 2024

1. Introduction

Welcome to TuneInUsage (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services, including our website and Google Chrome Extension (“Extension”). By accessing or using our services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

a. Personal Information

  • Admin Account Information: When an administrator (“Admin”) sets up an account, we collect personal information such as name, email address, and company details necessary for account creation and management.
  • User Invitations: Admins provide email addresses of team members (“Users”) to send them invitations to download and install the Extension.

b. Extension Usage Data

  • URL Matching: The Extension monitors the URLs accessed by Users to determine if they match any SaaS or web applications configured by the Admin.
  • Event Transmission: If a match is found, an event containing the application name and timestamp is sent directly to the Admin’s specified PostHog environment.
  • No Data Storage: We do not collect, store, or have access to any browsing data or usage information from the Users’ devices. All data processing occurs locally on the User’s device, and data is transmitted directly to the Admin’s PostHog environment without passing through our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Service Provision: We use Admins’ personal information to create and manage accounts, authenticate Admins, and provide the services requested.
  • User Communication: We use Users’ email addresses solely to send them invitations on behalf of the Admin.
  • Customer Support: To respond to inquiries from Admins and provide customer support.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (For EEA Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for collecting and using your personal information is:

  • Consent: For sending invitations to Users.
  • Legitimate Interests: For providing and improving our services, provided that such interests are not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.

5. Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose your information in the following situations:

  • Service Providers: We may share Admins’ personal information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as email delivery services. These third parties are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes specified by us.
  • Legal Obligations: If required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal information may be transferred.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure.

7. Data Retention

  • Admins’ Personal Information: We retain Admins’ personal information for as long as their account is active or as needed to provide services.
  • Users’ Email Addresses: We retain Users’ email addresses only as long as necessary to send the invitation email and for record-keeping in compliance with legal obligations.

8. Your Rights and Choices

a. Admins and Users

  • Access and Correction: You may access, correct, or update your personal information by contacting us.
  • Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal obligations.
  • Opt-Out: Users who do not wish to participate can choose not to install the Extension or uninstall it at any time.

b. EEA Residents

You have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

9. International Data Transfers

Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country in which you are resident. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from those of your country.

We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal information when it is transferred internationally, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

10. Third-Party Services

Our services may contain links to third-party websites or services, such as PostHog. We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with.
